ABOUT UPPAL
She has been practicing out of Harley Street for over 17 years and, during this time, has become a leading name in dental healthcare. With her extensive experience and outstanding knowledge she took the decision to expand her private practice and lead her own team; in October 2016 Uppal launched Sorriso Dentistry in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.
She works alongside experienced dental hygienists and other dental specialists, and is supported by a skilled team of laboratory technicians, to ensure the best of care for her patients.
UPPAL’S BACKGROUND
Uppal graduated from Guy’s Dental Hospital in 1998, with University distinctions, and was proxime accessit to the BDS University Gold Medal.
She went on to gain a wealth of qualifications including Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners, Royal College of Surgeons, England in 2000 and Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons, England in 2001, before entering full-time postgraduate training culminating in a Masters in Clinical Dentistry, with Distinction, in 2005 from the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute, University College London (UCL), where she was also awarded the University College London Commemorative Prize in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics. Uppal gained Membership in Restorative Dentistry (Prosthodontics), Royal College of Surgeons, England in 2006, and this saw her earn a place on the General Dental Council’s Specialist Register as a Prosthodontist.
Today, Uppal uses this experience to not only practice all aspects of dentistry, but also to teach at the Eastman Institute, UCL. Her ongoing role in clinical and academic research enables her to remain abreast of the latest research and developments in dental healthcare and apply them to enhance and broaden the services offered to her own patients.
Whilst her qualifications and accolades demonstrate both her commitment to the profession and her skills as a clinician, Uppal’s main focus is to ensure her private practice offers patients the best possible treatment in a calm and welcoming environment, and she has become the first port of call for clients requiring challenging or complicated prosthodontic procedures, as well as implants and restorative care.
MY ETHOS
Regular dental examinations are important, not just to check your teeth and gums, but to ensure a full screen of the oral tissues is carried out . Regular dental hygiene visits and implementing preventative regimes in your routine care, minimise the need for unnecessary dentistry.
I hope any concerns or worries you have will disappear when you see my calm and relaxed practice. I understand some patients are apprehensive about their visit to the dentist, so don’t be afraid to tell me. Ask as many questions as you like- I want you to feel comfortable when you visit us, and fully informed should any treatment be required. My team and I pride ourselves in being at the forefront of modern dentistry, and together with our skills and experience, know that you will be in the best of hands.
My practice profile and specialist interests are centred around our philosophy of Biomimetics and Minimally Invasive Dentistry; replacing only damaged, decayed or broken tooth structure but with restorations that replicate the strength, function and aesthetics of natural teeth.
